In reflection of this brief, there are some things I wish I had done, for example I would have liked to put the picnic into context as these photos are taken against a white wall. There is a 'grass' rug in the graphics studio that I tried to photograph with, but they just didn't come out as I had hoped. Hopefully when we get some nicer weather I'll be able to shoot it in a park!

I enjoyed this brief because it went quite a long way in showing me how to put my food characters into a bit more context, which led to the idea of the cookbook for my final major project. I'd like to make more picnics and maybe sell them as kids toys - a bit like when you had play kitchens when you're little but without all the horrible plastic food!

There's actually a German company called HABA which actually do the fake food thing quite well - choosing appropriate materials to convey the actual food which is really unique. They make these really lovely petit fours. Maybe I can get a job with them! ;)

Anyway, back to the point, here are the photos of my picnic, but stay tuned for more picnic news as I might be able to snap some better shots in a more realistic environment!
